Yusen Logistics to Open New Logistics Center in O’Hare, Chicago

Secaucus, New Jersey – Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc., a leading global logistics and supply chain provider, will be opening a new logistics center in June 2013. The facility in Chicago is positioned near O’Hare International Airport, and will support the company’s continued growth in its international logistics business.

The 230,000 square-foot building will support 28,000 square-feet of office space, 30 exterior dock doors, two interior docks, and a drive-in door.   This expanded gateway operation will be C-TPAT and TAPA certified, and designed to service the logistical needs of its customers within the USA central region.  As a container freight station, the facility’s optimal layout will expedite the customs clearance and processing of airline ULDs as well as the throughput of ocean containers.   In addition, this multi-tenant warehouse will service the storage and distribution requirements of clients from many diverse industries.

“We are committed to building our international and domestic network, and delivering a better service to our customers,” said Scott Corless, Senior Vice President & General Manager, International Division. “The new facility in Chicago will support these goals while providing a strategically located storage and distribution solution for shippers. The project is part of our long-term investment plan, and demonstrates our commitment to growth in this market.”
