(NYSE:R), a leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, today announced that it was named a 2011 General Motors Supplier of the Year for providing world-class supply chain and logistics services to GM. This is Ryder’s seventh time winning the award, which was given recently during a ceremony at the Detroit Institute of the Arts.

The award recognizes the significant contributions of GM’s suppliers in 2011 as part of the company’s global product and performance achievement. This year, General Motors honored 82 out of thousands of suppliers representing 13 countries for their outstanding performance throughout 2011.
