C.H. Robinson Introduces ChemSolutions Division

Eden Prairie, MN (October 1, 2012) — C.H. Robinson Worldwide, one of the world’s largest logistics companies, has formed a new division called ChemSolutions™ which will provide logistics services to chemical manufacturing and distribution customers globally.

ChemSolutions is capable of providing chemical bulk shipping, safety and sustainability, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, vendor and supplier compliance, global trade management, and multi-modal transportation to chemical shippers.

In order to serve the chemical market more broadly and effectively, ChemSolutions™ has earned RC14001™ certification, which combines Responsible Care and ISO 14001 certifications into a single process based on an international standard that is accepted by chemical manufacturers worldwide.

“Chemical logistics is a perfect fit for us as C.H. Robinson has a long history in specialty logistics ranging from time sensitive products, produce, high value shipments and project business,” said Taylor Nicks, manager of ChemSolutions.  “Because of the inherent risks in transporting chemicals it is imperative that chemical manufactures align themselves with logistics providers that have industry expertise in handling chemicals and programs in place.”

ChemSolutions™ is committed to following stringent Responsible Care and ISO 14001 standards and to using proprietary technology to ensure that C.H. Robinson contract carriers meet customer, and industry requirements.  To fulfill this obligation, each C.H. Robinson employee that works in the ChemSolutions™ completes a certification training program before they are able to handle chemical shipments.
